Luckily intel has made it fairly easy for you to decide which processor you may need. Intel has a variety of lines and even more particular models of processors. They have a processor for every need. Their three basic lines are the Intel i3, i5, and i7 processors. As you can guess, the i3 is the lower end and the i7 is their highest end. Within each line, they have a variety of particular models. We wont go into detail for each one, but you should follow this basic guideline. The i3 processors are great for the user who doesn’t do much with their computer. These users may simply want a processor that is good enough to let them read emails, write letters, watch movies, and surf the web. The i5 line of CPUs are a step up. These are more midrange in price and are probably for the average home user. Computers with the i5 line are good for doing all of the i3 lines in addition to playing a few games and perhaps being capable of multi tasking a little faster. The i7 line is Intel’s fastest processors. These are recommended for the professional who needs a lot of computing power or for an avid gamer who simply wants to play the latest greatest games. The i7 processors from Intel are quite expensive, typically over the $500 mark. In conclusion, Intel is just an example we use. AMD is also another popular brand for processors.
